govori o disonanci med zgodbo, liki in gameplayem. the last of us niti ne trpi tok zaradi tega kot kakšen uncharted, ampak tudi. tbh si želim, da ne bi prebral članka, ker mi je preveč dvignil pričakovanja.

Ampak oboje je fikcija? Mislim, saj smrti človeka v seriji ne gledam v živo, ampak prav tako skozi piksle. Zgodba je tista, ki te naveže na lika in zgodba je tista, zaradi katere ima potem smrt nekoga določeno težo. Medtem ko se strinjam, da v igrici lahko čez čas gledaš na "smrt" samo kot na oviro, si bolj aktivno vključen v celotno zadevo. In to, povezano z močno zgodbo in dobro razvitimi liki, pripelje do tega, da je "smrt pixlov" lahko močnejša od smrti manj pixlaste igralčeve podobe na monitorju.

Aha, vidim, ja, da je tvoj članek kar precej drugače zastavljen (nimam ga časa prebrat v celoti, ker sem na šihtu ampak sem prebral nadaljevanje citata).

 

Še vedno sem malo on the fence, osebno. Se mi zdi, da je to "moralno breme" lahko prikazano tako v igrici kot v seriji, vendar tega Druckmann ni naredil že v štartu, pa skuša "popravit" skozi serijo? Kar pa ni niti nujno slabo; smo se par dni nazaj pogovarjali pa sem se spraševal, če je ta ekranizacija sploh "potrebna", ker primarno targetira gamerje, ki so celotno zadevo verjetno obrnili, doživeli in tudi videli. Če bodo neke smiselne "spremembe", da ne rečem ravno "popravki", bo vsaj celotna stvar imela neko novo dimenzijo. TLOU v2.0 ali nekaj podobnega. No, itak pa bojo serijo gledali tudi tisti, ki niso gamerji oziroma igrice ne poznajo.

While The Hollywood Reporter’s piece covers a fair bit of ground, here are some of the most interesting facts about The Last of Us and the road to its HBO adaptation:

 

- Neil Druckmann once pitched The Last of Us’ premise to George Romero (Night of the Living Dead) as part of a college assignment in 2004; the acclaimed director “didn’t like it,” and chose another student’s idea instead

- A movie adaptation of The Last of Us was in the works with Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, the 2000’s Spider-Man trilogy), but with demands to make it more like World War Z, Druckmann lost interest in moving forward

- Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart) were considered for the role of Ellie in the upcoming HBO adaptation

- There was concern, with Pedro Pascal on board, that TLOU’s plot would feel too similar to The Mandalorian’s “Mando and Baby Yoda” vibe

- Pedro Pascal needed to get permission from The Mandalorian’s producers to work on TLOU

- Though the HBO show will cover all the events of the first game, we should expect some significant changes

The co-creators decided to ditch the idea that infection spreads through fungal spores as it was in the game series as they believed it wouldn't be realistic enough.

"We wanted to ground this show in as much science as possible. The game did it pretty darn well, especially for a genre where it would be easy to say, 'Oh, there’s zombies, but the zombies come out of the ground.' Cordyceps is a fascinating concept, and it’s absolutely real. We wanted to push that a little further," Mazin explained.

For those unaware, in the original The Last of Us, infectious fungal spores are found indoors, and in such places, the characters must always wear masks to avoid inhalation of them. Mazin and Druckmann felt that this concept needs to be pushed a little further, so the virus spreads differently in the show. According to Druckmann, the creators really liked the idea of infection through tendrils which create a kind of interconnected chain of the infected.
