Driedger prva tekma v NHL po 20 mesecih in 37 obramb za zmago 2-1 v 200. tekmi v zgodovini Krakenov. Adam Larsson je edini, ki je igral vse tekme doslej. Trenutno ima niz 304 tekem in je 5. na lestvici aktivnih "Iron manov". 

 

Tudi šele tretja zmaga v 11 tekmah proti Flamesom.

 

Jutri še Flyersi za konec leta, potem pa v ponedeljek Winter Classic.

Giving some more thought, just to make myself more angry, as a true M's fan does... The M's payroll the last 3 seasons (im using Spotrac):

 

- 2021, $83,000,000 (ranked 25th in MLB)
- 2022, $115,838,000 (ranked 21st in MLB)
- 2023, $127,716,000 (ranked 18th in MLB)
- 2024 projected 21st

 

Reported profits:

- 2021, $71,000,000 (3rd in MLB)
- 2022, $86,000,000 (1st in MLB)
- 2023, not yet out, but lets use average the two and assume its somewhere around $78.5mil (its probably more)

$235,000,000 profit in 3 years (rough estimate)

 

Attendance:

- 2021, 20th in MLB
- 2022, 15th in MLB
- 2023, 10th in MLB

 

Reports also state that single game tickets are going up 9-33% in 2024 (Seattle Times) and many of you have stated your season ticket prices also increased substantially.

 

Going back to when Safeco was created, 72% of the $517,000,000 of the cost was at expense of tax payers (please, no politics, just a data point to show ownership is mostly out on this cost, which to be fair is fairly normal in cities). In 2018, $135,000,000 in renovations were done to the park, also covered by tax money.

 

After Stanton and Co. took the majority share from Nintendo in 2016, their valuation has nearly doubled from $1.2 billion to $2.2 billion.

 

Im not even sure what my point is. But, the more I learn about payroll, attendance, tax payer responsibility, profits, team valuation, etc... the more frustrating it is knowing how tight their wallets are. RSN bull aside, there is nothing here that tells me we shouldnt be cracking the top ten in payroll year in and year out. We will never be the Dodgers, Yanks, Red Sox, Mets, etc... But gosh dang, they should be much better.

Flacco passed for 296 yards in the first half, the most in any half in his career, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

 

Flacco has now thrown for more than 300 yards in every victory in Cleveland's four-game winning streak.

 

"This is obviously a very unique situation for me, so a lot of different emotions are going through my head," said Flacco, who is the first quarterback in NFL history to put up at least 250 passing yards and multiple passing touchdowns in each of his first five games with a new franchise. "The city has been so unbelievable. ... You can just tell they love football, and it's special going out there and playing for them."
