jp, dve zelo izenaceni ekipi v zadnjem obdobju. GK ce zgubijo majo sam se 2 tocki prednosti pred Bluesi. Majo pa tekmo manj.

Major League Baseball’s other 29 owners will vote on the sale of the Orioles from the Angelos family to a purchasing group led by billionaire David Rubenstein on Wednesday, Britt Ghiroli and Evan Drellich of The Athletic report.

 

Back in late January, John Angelos agreed to sell the controlling stake in the Orioles — and related assets, including the team’s stake in the MASN network — to Rubenstein’s group for $1.725 billion (a figure announced by the team at the time of the agreement).

 

As reported back in January, Rubenstein’s group will initially be purchasing a 40% stake in the team — enough to cement him as the franchise’s new control person among other owners but not the entirety of the Angelos family’s stake. At the time the two parties negotiated the sale, it was agreed that the remainder of the Angelos family’s share in the team would be transferred to Rubenstein’s group following the passing of family patriarch Peter Angelos, the former Orioles control person and majority owner who’d since taken a step back due to health concerns and ceded control of the club to his sons, John and Louis (in what became a contentious battle for control of the organization that eventually saw John emerge as control person). This contingent was designed to avoid substantial capital gains taxes for the Angelos family.

 

Peter Angelos passed away this past weekend at 94 years of age. That won’t accelerate the transfer of the Angelos family’s entire stake in the team to Rubenstein’s group. Drellich and Ghiroli report that Wednesday’s vote will only be on the originally agreed upon 40% stake for Rubenstein & Co.; they’ll eventually formally acquire the remainder of the Angelos family’s 70% stake in the club, but that transaction will not be completed by Opening Day.

Kopi top 50 all time po točkah  To bo verjetno šlo mimo večine slovenskih novinarjev in ljubiteljev športa, ampak res nor dosežek. Ta njegov "longevity" (ne vem, kak bi bil primeren slovenski izraz, mogoče dolgotrajnost?) je tudi občudovanja vreden. Da 18+ let igraš konstantno na nivoju brez večjih poškodb v tako fizičnem športu. Edina škoda je, da ga na drugi strani velike luže veliko bolj cenijo kot pa doma.

Gledam zdaj to lestvico in če bo igral še recimo tri leta (kar bi lahko glede na to, da so ga poškodbe večinoma pustile na miru) in dosegal vsaj 50 točk (njegovo povprečje je sicer 65+), kar mu je doslej uspelo vedno z izjemo 2012/13, ko je bila skrajšana sezona zaradi lockouta (pa še takrat je imel 42 pik v 47 tekmah) bi lahko kariero končal v top 30. 

 

aja, a bo Ovie igral, dokler ne prehiti Gretzkyja po golih? Še 46 zadaj je. Torej verjetno še dve (nepolni) sezoni pa bo tam. 

 

Drugače mi je pa še vedno eden najbolj fascinantnih podatkov v športu, da ima Wayne več asistenc kot ima katerikoli drug igralec skupaj točk. Res noro.

Utah State's Danny Sprinkle has accepted the head-coaching job at Washington, the school announced Monday.

 

Sprinkle has agreed to a six-year deal, per ESPN sources.

 

Sprinkle had emerged as one of the hottest candidates on the carousel this spring after leading Utah State to its first-ever outright Mountain West regular-season title in his first season with the program. He also led the Aggies to their first NCAA tournament win since 2001, beating TCU on Friday 88-72.

 

 

Sprinkle has plenty of ties to the Pacific Northwest and Washington specifically. His father played safety for the Huskies in college and he was born in Pullman. He went to Montana State to play basketball and graduated as the #7 scorer in program history. Sprinkle’s coaching career began as an assistant at Cal State Northridge and he had multiple stints there and at Montana State sandwiched around a few years at Cal State Fullerton over the course of 13 seasons.

The Colorado coach said his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and two-way star cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter will decide where they go in the 2025 draft, and not the other way around as is traditionally the case.

 

"I know where I want them to go," Deion Sanders told the "Million Dollaz Worth of Game" podcast Friday. "So, it's certain cities that ain't going to happen. It's going to be an Eli."

 

"Eli" is in reference to two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning, who was selected with the first overall pick in 2004 by the Chargers, for whom he said he wouldn't play. One hour later, San Diego traded Manning to the New York Giants, and the rest is history.

 

Deion Sanders has already said he doesn't want his son "going nowhere cold" via the draft. On Friday, he told the podcast that there are "certain cities that fit" before mentioning San Francisco, Dallas, Washington and Baltimore as possible landing spots.

Meanwhile M'si 1-9 v spring trainingu. Dobro, da to nič ne šteje in da so še trije tedni do začetka rednega dela. Bullpen je zanič, ampak itak večina teh igralcev letos ne bo videla MLB, razen če bodo poškodbe, a potem smo itak gotofi.  

 

 

So se zelo popravili v drugi polovici ST in celo končali s pozitivnim recordom. V zadnjih 14 tekmah so 10-1 (in 3x tie ), zadnji dve tekmi premagali Padrese v Petco Parku.

 

Od jutri gre pa končno zares. Začenjamo z Red Soxi.
