Jetsi že 12 let brez playoffa.

 

Lagano sportski, še živi za playoff pred zadnjim tednom, tega pred sezono niti približno nisem pričakoval. Ob slabem napadu Jetsov obramba celo zgledala spodobno, drug teden nam bodo pa Ramsi spet obesili 500 jardov in 30 pik.

 

 

V vsakem primeru se navija za Levčke, če zmagamo smo noter, drugače pa boljše oni kot pa sirovci.

In še dobro, da nisem v živo gledal te drame. Je bilo dovolj, da sem videl nekaj posnetkov, kako pretreseni so bili njegovi soigralci.

Commotio cordis (Latin, "agitation of the heart") is an often lethal disruption of heart rhythm that occurs as a result of a blow to the area directly over the heart (the precordial region) at a critical time during the cycle of a heart beat, producing what is termed an R-on-T phenomenon that leads to the condition. It is a form of ventricular fibrillation (V-Fib), not mechanical damage to the heart muscle or surrounding organs, and not the result of heart disease. The survival rate is 58%, which is an increase in comparison to years 1993–2012, where only 34% of victims survived. This increase is likely caused by prompt CPR, access to defibrillation and higher public awareness of this condition.[1]

 

Due to ventricular fibrillation and resultant cessation of the cardiac output to vital organs, commotio cordis has a high fatality rate, indicated by two studies to be 72-75% with survival decreasing substantially if effective resuscitation is not performed within three minutes of the impact event.[1][3] In a United States timeline analysis, survival was only 10% over the years 1970-1993, while during 1994-2012, survival was 34%.[1] Higher survival rates occurred with more immediate resuscitation by using an on-site automated external defibrillator (40% survival if under 3 minutes; 5% survival if more than 3 minutes).[1]

 

Commotio cordis is a very rare event, but nonetheless is often considered when an athlete presents with sudden cardiac death. Some of the sports which have a risk for this cause of trauma are baseball, American football, association football, ice hockey, polo, rugby football, cricket, softball, pelota, fencing, lacrosse, boxing, professional wrestling, hurling and martial arts (see Touch of Death). Children are especially vulnerable, possibly due to the mechanical properties of their thoracic skeleton.[4] From 1996 to spring 2007, the USA National Commotio Cordis Registry had 188 cases recorded, with about half occurring during organized sports.[5] Almost all (96%) of the victims were male, the mean age of the victims during that period was 14.7 years, and fewer than one in five survived the incident.[5]

Sem tudi poslušal enega zdravnika, ki je rekel, da ČE se je že to moralo zgodit je najboljše na tekmi NFL (je pa res, da se mu ne bi zgodilo, če ne bi igral), kjer je dovolj usposobljenega zdravniškega osebja, ki ti lahko takoj pomaga. Če bi bil to HS ali pa celo college football bi bile šanse za preživetje precej manjše. Podobno za ostale športe omenjene zgoraj na amaterski/rekreativni ravni. Tam ti večinoma pač ni pomoči, če se kaj takega zgodi. :(
