mal z delayem, ampak vseeno :D 

 

siht je za mene precej v redu v smislu delovnega okolja, late-stage-startup kultura (nekje na polovici med startupom in korporacijo) kar pomeni (no, vsaj na nasem primeru, ne vem tocno kako se to drugod prevede) fokus na tem da deliveras nekaj, fokus na produktivnosti in k sreci zadost fokusa na infrastrukturi in ohranjanju cistega codebasa

 

pritisk na developerja je nekje zmeren, odvisno kaj tocno delas, ampak v glavnem trenutno je najvecji pritisk na managementu in data teamu da gruntajo nove "eksperimente" (random konfigurabilne featurje) ki izboljsajo metrike user engagementa in jih pripravijo vec, da placujejo

 

glede teama (tehnicnega) lahko prvic recem za tujo firmo, v kateri sem delal, da je dejansko boljsi kader kot v tisti prvi slovenski developerski firmi v kateri sem delal kot student za 5 eur na uro (FRI in FERI producirata dober kader brez zajebancije, vsaj takrat), mi je fajn ko bo 6 letih v industriji vidis res majstre v svojem fohu, in to ne seniorje ki so samo 40-letni fotri z 20 let izkusenj ampak dejanske eksperte ki obvladajo.

 

in fajn ko po toliko letih spet zacutis impostor syndrome kicking in, no vsaj prvih par mesecev, ko imas veliko da se naucis in privadis v novo okolje in nov codebase :) izjemno pomembno, da ne stagniras v eni in isti firmi

 

glede neto ipd, ne bi direkt dajal cifre, recimo bom rekel primerno tech lead poziciji za kalifornijske razpone; pozicija mi zaenkrat ustreza ampak ce mi uturijo bistveno vec meetingov bom raje zajambral in sprejel manjso placo

kaj pa si, kaj je to sploh tech lead? pa ni problem 100% remote, kako je pa z delovnim časom, delaš naše popoldanske delovnike?

v vsaki firmi je svoje, ampak v glavnem bolj neka vmesna stopnja med senior devom in tehnicnim managerjem, pac delas svoj delez dogovarjanja in vodenja in usmerjanja tehnicnih odlocitev in preostal delez codinga

 

sicer delam popoldan in zvecer, ja, k sreci nimamo prevec sestankov (vecinoma samo standup z lastnim teamom, ostalo probamo async/preko drugih kanalov) tako da naceloma sem dost fleksibilen, oz. vsaj da ne rabim delat ponoci

Namest da bi takemu zasluženemu delavcu dal eno orng colngo, daš nek fensi šmensi naziv in ga boostaš po hierarhični lestvici (v praksi to pomeni več dela in odgovornosti), plačo pa za par fičnikov gor (če sploh). Pač cenejši način. Ko ma firma kadrovski oddelek za pol razvojnega, loh veš da te bojo nategval ko slak harmonko.

ma po mojem se ne bi zajebaval s tem, hrvaska je le v EU in (bo v) evroconi, za 9% razlike

glede selitve, ne glih, sicer tehnicno gledano se moras odselit iz slovenije da nehas bit davcni rezident, torej manj kot pol dni na leto tukaj (kar skoraj ze sem, ampak to itak ne vem kako kontrolirajo) in kup drugih stvari (nepremicnine, zakonski stan itd.)

to je spet en od nazivov brez tocno dolocenega pomena 

v osnovi se naj bi "tech" foskusiral na tehnologijo, "team" pa na ljudi

 

sam v 90% primerih je to isto oz. to dela isti clovek, ne glede na naziv

to je res, itak ma vsaka firma zadost razlicne nacine dela posameznika da ti "sorodni" nazivi ne definirajo nic vec kar bi splosno veljalo

To ni problem sam software developerjev, ampak nasploh. Od zafuranih produktov (PMi), nedokumentiranega razvoja hardwara,... Ko ti enkrat čez noč iz razvoja spoka par maherjev, maš v 99% firm sranje.

Twilio CEO Jeff Lawson announced in a message to all employees that 11% of its workforce would be laid off, stating that they made the layoffs through an "Anti-Racist" and "Anti-Oppression" lens.

The San Francisco-based corporate communications company CEO said in the message to employees that the layoffs are "wise and necessary."

"I'm not going to sugarcoat things. A layoff is the last thing we want to do, but I believe it's wise and necessary. Twilio has grown at an astonishing rate over the past couple years. It was too fast, and without enough focus on our most important company priorities. I take responsibility for those decisions, as well as the difficult decision to do this layoff," Lawson said.

In determining which roles would be impacted in the layoffs, Lawson said that company officials examined which roles were most aligned with its four priorities, but said that the layoffs were carried out through an anti-racism lens.

"As you all know, we are committed to becoming an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression company," Lawson wrote. "Layoffs like this can have a more pronounced impact on marginalized communities, so we were particularly focused on ensuring our layoffs – while a business necessity today – were carried out through an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression lens."

Those who were laid-off will get "at least" 12 weeks of pay, and an additional week per year of service at the company. They will also receive the full value of Twilio's next stock vest.

"I am deeply sorry to see you all leave Twilio. You have all been part of building our company. You’ve been our teammates, partners, and friends. I’m grateful for your contributions to our customers and our business. And we owe it to you to help as much as we can," Lawson wrote in the message.

Lawson wrote in the announcement that the company is making the layoffs as it aims to be a profitable growth company.

The company had 7,867 employees as of Dec. 31, 2021, according to its December annual report.

In the past year, Twilio shares have declined in value by over 78%.
